About Dried Blueberries

Are they good for you?
Blueberries are phytonutrient superstars.
These fruits contain significant amounts of anthocyanadins, antioxidant compounds that give blue, purple and red colours to fruits and vegetables. In addition, blueberries also contain ellagic acid, another phytochemical that has been shown to prevent cell damage. Blueberries are a very good source of vitamin C, manganese, and both soluble and insoluble fibre like pectin. Blueberries are also a good source of vitamin E.

What can they be used for?
These dried blueberries are perfect for baking or adding sweetness to muesli or porridge. Try in muffins, flapjacks or cake to give your baking added antioxidants and superior flavours.
Toss some onto a salad to add a sweet twist to an otherwise crisp or savoury dish. Dried blueberries pair especially well with spinach, walnuts, and fresh strawberries in a summertime salad.
They work especially well in heavy pancake batters. We highly recommend blueberry pecan pancakes as a wonderful way to enjoy these berries dried.
Make blueberry scones and serve with clotted cream or butter with afternoon tea.

You can "rehydrate" dried blueberries by placing one pound of the dehydrated fruit in one cup of water.

How do you store them?
If you store dried blueberries in an airtight container, they can last for 6-12 months.

What is a serving size?
A serving of dried blueberries is 150gm

Customer reviews

If you soak these blueberries overnight they make a really delicious addition to fruit cake recipes.
