About Organic Fresh Thyme

A delicate looking herb with a penetrating fragrance, thyme is a wonderful addition to bean, egg and vegetable dishes. Thyme is an excellent source of iron, manganese, and vitamin K. It is also a very good source of calcium and a good source of dietary fibre, although in the low quantities it is eaten these nutrients are less pronounced.

Customer reviews

This thyme is almost as good as the thyme that used to grown in our garden. It adds a lovely extra kick to stuffing made with oatmeal and apricots.

Roasted Carrots and Salsifies Recipe

Summary: The simplest way to prepare salsify is to roast them, drizzled with some good quality olive oil, a whole garlic head, a few bay leaves and a small bunch of fresh thyme. Leave their very much edible skins on for extra nutrition, but if you do peel them, try to do as and soak them in cold water with a little vinegar to stop the delicate cream flesh from browning. Pair them with carrots or your favourite root vegetables for a lovely side dish.
