About Organic Apples Laxton Fortune

Organic Laxton Fortune Apple from Real Foods. Laxton Fortune's are somewhat similar to a Cox's Orange Pippin (one of its parents - the other is referred to as wealthy). Developed by the Laxton Brother's nursery in the early part of the 20th Century. An extremely popular apple for taste, the storage and easy bruising of the apple mean it is rarely sold in large commercial amounts.

I love going to Real Foods and exploring all the different and unusual varieties of apples that they sell at this time of year. This is one you don't really see in the supermarkets and it has become one of our family favourites. Great that it is organic to boot!
