About Organic Victoria Plum

The Victoria plum is a type of English plum, named after Queen Victoria. It has a yellow flesh with a red or mottled skin. This plum is a cultivar of the egg plum group (Prunus domestica ssp. Intermedia).

The fruit shape is oval or ovate. The stone does not come off completely from the flesh but the skin is easy to pull off. The flesh is quite rough, light yellow and in good development and full maturity is sweet and tasty.

In my opinion these are quite simply the best plums out there. When we moved house we left our Victoria plum tree behind so I was delighted to find these in Real Foods even if it does take more planning to go and buy them than it did to go and pick them - at least we can all still enjoy the great taste of these plums.
