The formula includes MSM, an organic form of sulphur that is critical for the formation of collagen, which forms the foundation of skin. Sulphur compounds are also required in keratin synthesis, and are essential to the formation of hair filaments and nail tissue. Also provided in the formula are vitamin C, zinc, proline, lysine and silica, all of which have been shown to be necessary for the proper formation of collagen. Copper helps convert tyrosine into a compound that is necessary for the pigmentation of the skin and hair. Deficiencies of these nutrients may occur because of inappropriate diet, food refining, stress or simply due to the ageing process.
