About Chickpea Gram Flour
Gram Flour is milled from naturally gluten and wheat-free gram or Chana Dahl. This is a type of small chickpea with a fine yellow colour, and is used to make onion bhajis and other Middle Eastern or Indian dishes. Sometimes called Besan flour, it is also useful for thickening soups or sauces.

This works very well for thickening soups and casseroles without adding a particular flavour. It is really useful that you can buy in small amounts if you don't use it very often - it means you don't have a bag of the stuff going stale in the cupboard.
